Visionaries Arrive
From SALCC in St. Lucia to IIT in Chicago: National Society of Black Engineers, Goldman Sachs Gives, and Illinois Institute of Technology welcome Sir Arthur Lewis Community College and RISE St. Lucia Inc., on Sunday, August 22, 2010, at O'Hare Airport in Chicago. 28 graduates of Sir Arthur Lewis Community College, 1 SALCC professor, and 1 RISE St. Lucia Inc. staff member arrived at O'Hare on three separate flights from St. Lucia, via Miami. The 28 students, who are aged 18 to 29, began their bachelor's degrees at IIT -- in 10 different majors -- on Monday, August 23, 2010, thanks to generous funding from IIT and Goldman Sachs Gives, in association with NSBE, SALCC, and RISE St. Lucia Inc., and with the gracious support of the Government of St. Lucia. Congratulations to these students for their many achievements, and thank you to these organizations for helping to make increased educational opportunities possible! |
